TO ALL MECHANICAL ENGINEERS !!!
The Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) is a duly registered organization at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Professional Mechanical Engineers, Registered Mechanical Engineers and Certified Plant Mechanic, accredited as an integrated mechanical engineering organization by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
As everyone knows, there is an ongoing leadership controversy in the National PSME in the election of 2007 National Directors, with two contending factions, one is headed by Engr. Ma. Cleofas Maceda, and the other is lead by Engr. Vicente Vosotros. The ongoing leadership controversy, has brought the majority of the 2007 proclaimed 15 winners Directors-elect, in the rule of law that has caused to file a civil case before Branch 93 and now re-raffled in Branch 90 of Quezon City Regional Trial Court, entitled “Cleofas Maceda et al vs. Vicente Vosotros et al” and docketed as Civil Case No. Q-06-164, to settle the leadership issue.
It had never been the mandate of the PRC under the law to accord recognition to an elected National President of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers. The general membership validate the duly elected National Directors through an election as mandated by the PSME By-Laws, Policy Manual and Omnibus Election Code.
In its program to reach out the general membership, the PSME National with official headquarters registered at the SEC is located at No. 19 Scout Bayoran St., South Triangle, Quezon City, with telephone number 02-412-2001 and telefax 02-412-0309, and email address

It is also the National Board under the leadership of Engr. Ma. Cleofas Maceda through the Past National President Engr. Roberto Lozada as Petitioner, who has lead in filing for Certiorari with prayer for issuance of TRO and Preliminary Injunction against PRC and Engr. Vicente Vosotros and Engr. Saylito Purisima, regarding the certificate of good standing to be secured upon payment to the PSME group of Vosotros in 2007 and Purisima in 2008 of Php2,100.00 for regular members, Php1,050.00 for life members, and Php900.00 for Certified Plant Mechanic, as a pre-condition in the renewal of professional identification cards. This case is now in Branch 6 of Manila Regional Trial Court.
We are asking support of all Mechanical Engineers who still have that LOVE OF THE MECHANICAL ENGINEERING PROFESSION. All Mechanical Engineers are affected by the new PRC requirement in the renewal of professional identification cards. It is about time that we do things right, and do the right things, and serve according to the mission of our profession.
MABUHAY & GOD BLESS PSME!
